Operating principle and assembly
The analyzer is intended for measurement of intensities of specific luminescent lines of meat products and their further comparison with the luminescent spectrum of the reference sample. The analyzer is composed of a casing preventing penetration of spurious electromagnetic visible range emission of foreign emitters, an optical source, beam focusing and filtering optics, a signal filtering system, a visible range emission sensor, a data controller, a control unit and embedded software. Measurements can be made immediately on cattle carcasses, cooled or frozen meat, or unspiced chopped meat. Test portions can be packed in material transparent for electromagnetic emission of the visible spectral range or stay in open air.
On the analyzer casing there are four LED indicators that light up depending on the test result. It should be noted that for accurate analysis measurements must be made in several points on meat slab surface.
Green light over the whole slab surface: fresh (slaughterwarm) meat.
Interchanging green and yellow light over the whole slab surface: fresh meat.
Interchanging green, yellow, blue light over the whole slab surface: cooled meat. The result is due to nonuniform bacteria spread in a meat slab in the course of thawing.
Interchanging yellow and blue light over the whole slab surface: single or repeatedly cooled meat in the course of thawing.
Blue light over the whole slab surface: meat has been singly or repeatedly frozen or stored at room temperature for a long time.
White light: meat quality is not determined (error); discharged battery.
